Logic…Discussion and reasoning by dialog as a method of intellectual investigation; specifically: the Socratic techniques of exposing false beliefs and eliciting truth…Developed through the stages of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis in accordance with the laws of dialectical materialism…A systematic reasoning, exposition, or argument that juxtaposes opposed or contradictory ideas and usually seeks to resolve their conflict.
Treatment for a project currently in utero.  It may be the sort of thing you wish to support or it might just be an interesting read or a new take on keeping these American classics vital.

   movement or procedure with uniform or  patterned recurrence of a beat accent, or the like.

A Dialectic in Rhythm:
Tap, Jazz and Poetry
in Dynamic Exchanges

In a highly theatrical evening of Dance, Music and Poetry.  This piece takes the familiar and views it in a totally fresh context.  A performance art event, that fusing tap, music and voice. 

Imagine three artists meet.  Masters in Tap, Jazz, and Poetry.   Each restricted by a distinct language, and a prescribed platform where music backs up dance, or music underscores speech, or voice illuminates song or dance, etc.  There is no real conversation or sharing of ideas.  But there is one common element: rhythm.  Leveraging this dynamic enhances the opportunity for a fresh, new and vibrant experience. This is our premise.

Some of the components could include the beat poems Howl (Allen Ginsberg),  
I Am Waiting (Lawrence Ferlinghetti) and jazz compositions So What (Miles Davis),
Cantaloupe Island (Herbier Hancock) Stolen Moments (Oliver Nelson) and Come On In My Kitchen (Robert Johnson). 

These provocative, yet familiar elements will attract existing fans of these three arts, and the fresh and compelling cA DIALECTIC IN RHYTHM encompasses the Arts of Tap, Jazz and beat Poetry.
 A DIALECTIC IN RHYTHM: An evening of discussion among three disciplines:  
JAZZ,  TAP  &  BEAT POETRY. 
Using their common link,
RHYTHM.
Jazz tap and Beat poetry are uniquely American forms of self-expression. They have all serviced the other in performance. Usually in set roles of service and augmentation.  But what if each spoke with equal voice. Where music did not back up dance, but dance set the beat for a song.  Or where words were the beat and tap the lyric.  WE know what has already been done, rules and accepted forms, are in place but we don’t have any idea of the full potential of these expressions.  For certain it will be new,  unseen,  un-experienced.

idea is simple take the best of the best in each discipline. But them together in space and through a dialectic…a no holds barred discussion of logic using the thesis, antithesis resolution theories that go back to Socrates .
